I listened to Larry Johnson last night. He has on a friend who was a sniper in some capacity (SWAT maybe). He gave a nuanced discussion of the role of snipers, and the possible confusion in the situation. It is worth listening to the interview. He does not dismiss LIHOP or MIHOP, but he admits that at the very least, there was incompetence before the event. He makes the case that maybe the delay itself was not due to poor performance, but due to the rules of engagement that the snipers had to operate under, the nature of actually having to find the target and shoot (I used to shoot guns in my misspent youth) and the dysfunctional aspects of the system put in place for protection.
I regard my personal opinion as valueless, and probably the same goes for the majority of people commenting, who do not have the background knowledge to make informed observations. Still, it seems to have some very stinky aspects, in my (under informed) view.

several of the agents seemed to be smaller than trump. a couple obviously were not used to wearing guns.
I just read that trump chose Ohio sen. Vance as VP. I think that might be a good choice.
