Okay. I'm not sure how familiar you are with American voting demographics, but if you don't capture the evangelical vote - you cannot win the presidency. ETA: barring cheating, of course.

That's one reason. Another is obvious - Trump is a salesman. Which is why he wouldn't mandate religion if it came down to it. He'd sell it to you instead. For 59.99$ as it were ;)

Third, he was visiting a family in New York, whose son was a police officer who was shot to death - which may have set the tone.

That and did you see the absolute bizarre fundraiser with Biden, Obama, and Clinton rising up from below the stage and the general spectacle that followed? Possibly a coincidence, but it was pretty weird.

I would argue that the US was largely a Christian nation throughout its history - and not because it was state-enforced.

And honestly - most of the time - not all, but most - it was a better country than now. Which doesn't suggest that religion should be mandatory.

I don't see anything particularly sinister in what Trump said. Especially not during Easter Week. And he's not going to try to destroy the Constitution. Though the Democrats certainly are, especially free speech.

Are you of the belief that Trump, like too many of late, is a murderous fascist? I really can't see that from past performance- especially given the way he got America out of wars and didn't start any.

Nor did I see any other particular actions as signs of fascism. I see the dems constantly saying he is, and that he'll jail his political opponents. But who's actually doing it?

Ok, I'll stop, but I just can't see Trump as a theocrat. He has lots of flaws - but the guy is pretty much what you see is what you get.

Do you truly see him as stupid and evil? I don't, but I may well be in the minority.

I have no evidence that he is a fascist or Nazis. He is a businessman and "winner" and he will do what he thinks he needs to do to win. As you will see over the next few weeks, I will building a case that there is quietly a build up of authoritarianism using religion as a cover. It is now more important than ever that we keep religion (and all its emotionalism and potential for fanaticism) out of the politics as much as we can.

I’d like you to consider, Mathew, that the elites/satanic/globalists/whoever-they-are that are obviously trying to destroy the US, would anticipate the outrage and pushback from us regular folks, might also have formulated a “solution” to save us from the crisis that they created…with a result that you’re referring to?

Not my own idea, but it could fit nicely with what you suggest. I look forward to your coming posts!

I look forward to it. And even though the US is more Uniparty politically than anything else, the authoritarianism is largely coming from the Democrats- as far as I can tell.
